As I woke up this morning, I couldn’t help but ask myself, with a week that is going to be so packed full of great meetings, work and ministry, have I made sure to put time aside for the one that really matters.
The church at Ephesus was a strong, vibrant church that was reaching it’s community and doing great things, but somewhere along the line they missed what really mattered. The Apostle John writes in Revelation 2 to the church that they are hard working, doing great things for God in the city of Ephesus, but then challenges them about their first love.
I guess my thought it, I have forgotten my why because I have become so wrapped up in my what?
Sometimes we don’t even see it coming yet it creeps in so slowly, and before you know it, you don’t even remember why you started doing this in the first place. It is always about Jesus, but do we remember that He is more concerned with us as His children than He is about us as His workers?
Make the time happen in order to spend it with Him. It will be well worth it.
